Astigmatism
Astigmatism is one of the eye problems related to refractive errors. It affects the focusing of light on the retina, which impairs the interpretation of the image in the brain. Astigmatism is usually caused by a slightly egg-shaped curvature of the cornea. It is not a disease and is a fairly common problem. There is a blurred vision in both distant and near objects, which causes eye fatigue, eye strain and discomfort in people. Sometimes astigmatism is accompanied by myopia and hyperopia. These disorders, called myopia astigmatism and hyperopia astigmatism, can be treated with glasses and contact lenses.
